To create this painting I was inspired by ancient Greek mythology. The gods and goddesses were believed to control every aspect of nature and the world around them. Among them was Zephyrus, the gentle god of the west wind, known for his gentle, soothing breeze, and Flora, the goddess of flowers and spring.
According to the myth, the two fell in love and their story became a symbol of the changing seasons and the arrival of spring.

In my new series of paintings I analyze renaissance paintings through the prism of my giant flower composition.
I was inspired by Paolo Uccello's painting "The Battle of San Romano" - a battle between the troops of Florence led by Niccolò da Tolentino and the army of Siena led by Francesco Piccinino, which took place on June 1, 1432, about 30 km from Florence. The Florentines had 4 thousand horsemen and 2 thousand infantry.
I chose this painting because its composition is evidence of the transition from late Gothic to early Renaissance, when both styles could still coexist quite organically and complement each other with their symbolic features. In this painting I created a more complex compositional solution. Now the main characters are buried in flowers and there is no more room for battle. In this painting I also showed the richness and beauty of the flora and fauna of the Tuscany region, which is one of the most picturesque places on the planet.
